How
to Configure Outlook Express 5.0 for SMTP Authentication

Open Outlook Express.
 |
- From the Tools
menu, choose Accounts.

- Select your email account
in the Account list.
Note:
Your email account may have a different name from the example
below, but the type will be "mail."
- Click the Properties
button.

- Click on the Servers
tab.

NOTE: if using a Yahoo.co.uk Mail account
input smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk in the
outgoing server (SMTP) option
- Check the box next to
My server requires authentication.
- Click the Settings
button.

If using a
Yahoo mail account input the Yahhoo.co.uk account details ( you do
not need to add the yahoo.co.uk after the account name.)
- Select Log on using.
- In the Account name
field, type your entire email address (e.g., someone@somedomain.com).
- In the Password
field, type in your password.
- Check the box next to
Remember password if you would like your password to be saved.
- Click the OK button.
