How to Configure Outlook 2002 for SMTP Authentication

Open Outlook.
  1. From the Tools menu, choose E-mail Accounts.

  2. Click the View or change existing e-mail accounts radio button in the E-mail area.
  3. Click the Next button.

  4. Choose the email account you want to configure SMTP authentication for from the list.
  5. Click the Change button.

    If using  a Yahoo.co.uk Mail account input smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk in the outgoing server (SMTP) option

     

  6. Click the More Settings button.

  7. Click on the Outgoing Server tab.
  8. Check the box next to My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
    If using a Yahoo mail account input the Yahhoo.co.uk account details
  9. Select Log on using.
  10. In the User Name field, type your entire email address (e.g., someone@somdomain.com).
  11. In the Password field, type your password.
  12. Check the box next to Remember password.
  13. Click the OK button.

  14. Click the Next button.

  15. Click the Finish button.

    Congratulations! You have successfully configured Outlook 2002/2003 for SMTP Authentication.
